Speaking on the Molineux View podcast, Steve Bull has admitted he was left baffled by one decision Nuno Espirito Santo made as Wolves faced West Brom.
Bull believes that it was obvious that Fabio Silva needed to come off for Patrick Cutrone late in the game after the Portuguese striker had spent over an hour running his socks off.
The Wolves legend questioned a number of decisions Nuno made in the Black Country derby, claiming that it reminded him of the FA Cup semi-final against Watford in 2019.
“It reminded me of when we played Watford in the semi-final when he made strange decisions, but he’s the manager and he can do what he wants to do,” Bull said.
He then went on to speak about Silva’s impact before saying that he needs to be implemented gradually.
“I think they need to bring him in gradually, I couldn’t understand on Saturday with 20 minutes to go he’d run his legs off and we had somebody on the leash with Cutrone raring to go, why didn’t they put him on for the last 20 minutes and give him a good go? I couldn’t understand it.”

It’s hard to really question anything Nuno has done as Wolves boss as he’s completely revolutionised the club.
However, we have to say that Bull may have a point here.
Silva’s work rate can’t be questioned, but after 70 minutes chasing every ball in a derby, a teenage striker should probably come off, especially when you have a more experienced option on the bench.
We can’t say whether or not Cutrone would have turned the tide for Wolves, but it was probably a risk worth taking as Silva looked very leggy towards the end of the game on Saturday.
