Alasdair Gold says Tottenham Hotspur could sign Liverpool transfer target Lloyd Kelly during the January transfer window.
The Football London journalist added that he can ‘understand the logic’ behind Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham bringing in the Bournemouth defender, as he told his own YouTube channel.
During the 2023 summer transfer window, there was talk of Lloyd Kelly making a move, but in the end, he stayed put and now Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool want to bring him in.
The 24-year-old can play at left-back and at the heart of the defence, so that versatility is probably another reason why the player is so highly thought of.
Whilst Spurs added to their backline this summer, more changes and fresh new faces are still needed, with Eric Dier recently holding a meeting with Daniel Levy about his future.
Not forgetting that Davinson Sanchez recently left, including Sergio Reguilon going out on loan, so the doors are open, in that aspect, for Kelly to come in.

Lloyd Kelly at Tottenham
“I think Kelly more so because I could understand the logic behind that move,” said Gold.
“He is pacy. He has the homegrown status as well. I could maybe see that (in January).”

Lloyd Kelly would suit Tottenham
A player who likes to get on the ball and push forward, you could see someone like Kelly thriving under Ange Postecoglou.
The Englishman has the athleticism and pace to play a style of play that involves you taking a lot of risk, but also needing the legs to get back if you are being targeted behind your defence.
Not only that, you wouldn’t expect Bournemouth would demand a high transfer fee for the player, so that’s another reason to push for Kelly again in January.
