A reported Rangers candidate feels that he is well equipped for the role at Ibrox.
The Gers are looking for a new manager after Steven Gerrard quit to join Aston Villa in the Premier League on Thursday.
And according to The Times, Alex Neil is in the reckoning to replace Gerrard in Glasgow.
Being a Scotsman, Neil, who was once linked to Celtic, knows a thing or two about the Old Firm.
And the 40-year-old told The Scottish Sun back in April of 2017 that he feels he could handle life in the hot seat at Rangers.
He said, amid previous speculation about him replacing Mark Warburton: “I never had anything from Rangers. It was all speculation.
“But I reckon I could do an Old Firm job. I’ve no doubts. Not that I’m touting myself. But do I believe I’m capable of it? Of course.”
Who is Rangers next manager?
Despite his confidence, the light Blues may not appoint Neil.
Well, they might because in football, things can change very quickly, evident by the fact that Gerrard has left.
But as of right now, all signs point toward Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The former Rangers defender is looking favourite to become the 41-year-old’s successor in Glasgow.
Van Bronckhorst, who had a successful four-year spell at Feyenoord until 2019, was working most recently as Guangzhou R&F boss in China.
But the Dutchman quit in December of last year after only 11 months in the job.
As for Neil, the 40-year-old, who won Premier League promotion with Norwich City in 2015, left Preston North End by mutual consent in March of this year.
