Calcio Mercato now say that Inter Milan have registered an interest in the central midfielder.
And Liverpool fans are becoming increasingly concerned by the transfer updates.
Wijnaldum’s importance to Liverpool has hardly ever been greater than it currently is, despite the uncertainty over his future.
With the Reds suffering with so many injury problems, Wijnaldum is set to be relied upon heavily by Klopp in the coming weeks.
Whether Liverpool will reward him with a new contract between now and January remains to be seen, though.
It is thought that Wijnaldum and Liverpool would both ideally like to agree new terms, but the longer the time goes without him committing to a new contract, the more doubt there will be over his future.
