Liverpool are officially back.

Prior to Thursday night, the Reds hadn’t won a Premier League match since before Christmas and had only scored in their last five games.

Two games later, Liverpool have scored six goals and won the same amount of points.

Jurgen Klopp’s side thumped in-form West Ham United 3-1 in East London tonight, a few days after beating Tottenham by the same scoreline on the other side of the city.

Two goals from Mo Salah – who didn’t score against Spurs – sent the Premier League champions on their way, the second of which has impressed Clinton Morrison.

He plucked a Xherdan Shaqiri cross out of the sky with a deft touch on 68 minutes, before clipping over Lukasz Fabianski without breaking his stride following a swift and devastating counter attack.

It was a prime example of how brilliant the former Roma and Chelsea star is on his day and here’s what Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “I can’t tell you how brilliant this goal is! The way they break is sensational, but the touch from Mo Salah – that was sensational and is the finish of someone saying ‘I’m back’! A joy to watch.”

Salah is back and so are Liverpool, it seems.

Considering the injuries problems that they’ve had to contend with, this was a brilliant result.

West Ham were fourth in the Premier League table prior to the Reds’ win at Spurs and that, really, ought to contextualise that a trip to the Irons is no easy game.
