Kai Havertz is now having the time of his life for Arsenal and pushing Mikel Arteta’s side towards the Premier League title.
It’s fair to say that the 24-year-old joined Arsenal from London rivals Chelsea under a bit of a cloud.
But fast forward to the present and he can’t stop scoring goals, including during his side’s comfortable 3-0 win at Brighton on Saturday.
After Bukayo Saka’s first-half penalty was converted, Kai Havertz provided his team with a bit of breathing space when he doubled Arsenal‘s lead after a brilliant run and assist from Jorginho.
It even impressed Tennis superstar Andy Murray, before Havertz turned provider when Leandro Trossard scored against his former club.
You would think pundits alike would be pleased by what Arsenal produced and would be singing the praises of their players.
Well, not a certain Tim Sherwood, who was pretty vocal about the German’s actions straight after the full-time whistle, as he told Premier League Productions (06/04/24 at 7:30 pm).
The former title-winning midfielder slammed Havertz for giving his shirt to ‘the assistant manager of Brighton’ by questioning ‘what the hell is he playing at?’

“Interesting there I see Kai Havertz giving his shirt to the assistant manager of Brighton,” said Sherwood.
“I can’t have that. What the hell is that man thinking about?!”

Across London, Chelsea are struggling big time and they are even in doubt of securing a European finish this term.
When Havertz first moved to Arsenal, many questioned that call, but it’s fair to say, those critics are no longer at the table now.
From his 30 Premier League games this season, he has nine goals and five assists and is absolutely thriving in his centre-forward role.
What’s even better is that a lot of his goal involvements have come since the turn of the year, so he is stepping up when it matters most.
