Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they don’t want to sign Angel Di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain, following a report from L’Equipe.

The French news outlet wrote that Spurs are eyeing the 104-cap Argentine international as he struggles to agree a new contract with the Parisians.

Impressively, the former Real Madrid attacker has won many trophies throughout his career, including the Champions League, La Liga and Ligue 1.

He was also named as Argentina’s Footballer of the Year in 2014, which is quite remarkable considering Lionel Messi exists.

So, why don’t Tottenham fans want Di Maria?

Well, because of something he said in 2014.

In quotes relayed by the Independent, Di Maria said: “It hurts when you’re always doing your best for your club and then you hear that you might be going to Tottenham.”

Football fans clearly have long memories!

Aside from his past comments, Di Maria wouldn’t be a good signing, in our view.

However, Tottenham need to look to the future, and sign younger players than the PSG No.11.

Let’s see what the Tottenham fans have been saying…
