Conor Coady has told Sky Sports that he ‘can’t explain to you’ how difficult it is facing Leeds United.
The Wolves captain also added that it’s ‘great’ playing at Elland Road, after his side conceded a stoppage-time equalising goal to Leeds on Saturday.
This time last week, Wolves were leaving it late at Aston Villa to secure all three points, in a dramatic finale in the Midlands.
But, this time around, they were on the end of a late goal, with Rodrigo scoring from the penalty spot to help his struggling Leeds side salvage a 1-1 draw.
Coady made his feelings pretty clear about playing against Leeds and performing at Elland Road after the game.
“It’s tough to take,” said Coady. “People will look at it and say ‘we have come here and defended’. I can’t explain to you how tough it is. It’s such a different way of play, the way Leeds play and how they do things.
“We were trying to not get caught up in a basketball patch and bodies all over the pitch. We trying to stay organised and tough. They make it tough, with how intense they make it.
“It’s great coming here, I’ll be honest with you. It’s great coming here and trying to test yourself. It’s tough, because they have such a way of playing.
“People want you to come here and go toe-to-toe with them. We would love to do that. But it’s tough to do that because they work on it a lot more than what we work on it.”
Leeds fans would consider that three of their star men are Patrick Bamford, Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.
Well, one of those players in Raphinha returned to the starting XI yesterday, but he had to be subbed just before the hour mark in what looked like worrying looking ankle injury.
Whilst Marcelo Bielsa opted to leave Kalvin Phillips on the bench throughout the 90 minutes, as Bamford is yet to return.
Leeds, somehow and somewhere, need to get them three out on that field because it would help elevate the whole side if they do.
