Jamie O’Hara has stated that Tottenham will ‘finish above’ West Ham United this season, as he told talkSPORT.
The former midfielder admitted that West Ham are more ‘solid’ than their London rivals, but he backed them to not only finish above them in the Premier League, but also knock them out of the League Cup.
Later on this month, Antonio Conte and his Spurs side will host their rivals in this hotly-contested all-London clash that will see the winners progress to the semi-finals of the League Cup.
The Hammers beat then-Nuno Espirito Santo’s side earlier on in the season, but they are now under different authority with Conte in the dugout.
Nonetheless, this is what O’Hara had to say about West Ham-Spurs, as presenter Laura Woods made it clear that she ‘couldn’t believe’ his comments.
“I think Tottenham will finish above West Ham,” insisted O’Hara.
Laura Woods responded by saying: “I can’t believe you have just said that.”
O’Hara added: “Nor can I. But you have to back your team. I am backing my team.
The former midfielder is then asked by Woods if Spurs are ‘as solid as West Ham appear to be, at the moment’ to which he responded: “No, we are not.
On whether Spurs could beat Chelsea: “I think we are capable of beating anyone. But I don’t think we are as solid as West Ham. What West Ham have shown is that they are a proper side. We are still too open.
On League Cup game: “Of course we are going to win – you are talking like West Ham are Liverpool. Come on, you have to back your side. Spurs will win a trophy this season and finish in the top four.”

David Moyes’s side are sitting one place above Spurs in the Premier League table – in fourth spot, two points ahead, with one more game played and a much better goal difference.
They will feel they can do the business again this term and also put a long-awaited trophy in their cabinet.
But Conte will want to do the same with his side and the most realistic target is the League Cup – for both teams.
A semi-final awaits either of them and then that trip to Wembley is around the corner.
