Some Celtic fans on Twitter aren’t happy with Neil Lennon’s decision to loan out Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

It was announced in the last hour that the Hoops had sent Bayo to Toulouse on a season-long loan.

The big Ivorian striker joined Celtic for £2 million under Brendan Rodgers in January of 2019.

But fast forward 18 months and the player has only managed 206 minutes of Premiership football, scoring two goals – a brace against Hearts last season.

When he has played, the 23-year-old has looked decent enough and Lennon hasn’t got another target-man striker in the Bayo mould at the moment.

Here’s how fans of the Parkhead club have reacted on Twitter to this departure:

In Celtic’s defence, this makes total sense.

With Lennon in the market for another striker, Bayo simply wouldn’t have played at all if and when the Northern Irishman adds another goalscorer.

At least this way, Bayo has a much more realistic chance of playing regularly and Celtic get to monitor his progress.
