Mladen Petric is devastated his former club have suffered relegation this afternoon.
When Fulham snapped up Croatian striker Mladen Petric in 2012 it seemed a coup from his former boss Martin Jol.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker was well known on these shores for a goal he scored for his country against England back in 2008 – that denied England a European Championships place.
And things started well for the player.
Petric bagged two goals and provided an assist in a 5-0 win against Norwich City – it was a sensational performance.
But things soon dipped for the player. In the end he played just the one season at the club – scoring five goals during his disjointed time in West London.
He was released at the end of that campaign – and went on to have an even more despairing spell in London at West Ham United – before moving to Greek side Panathinaikos in January this year.
And last weekend he was celebrating as To Trifylli won the Greek Cup – but this week he was not happy.
He shared his disappointment in Fulham’s demise today – after The Cottagers were relegated to the Championship after a 4-1 defeat at Stoke City…
