Heung-Min Son joked that he couldn’t believe it when Pierre-Emile Højbjerg scored for Tottenham on Sunday, as he told the club’s official Twitter account.

The flying forward shared that he was ‘very happy’ for his Tottenham teammates Hojbjerg and Lucas Moura.

It was Son, who provided the assists, for both goals from the weekend as Spurs beat Aston Villa 2-1 on home soil.

Hojbjerg got on the scoresheet because of his cool and precise finish that opened the scoring.

But the second goal goes down as an OG to Matt Targett because, before Moura could prod home, the Villa man got a nick on the ball.

Nonetheless, Son, who was at the heart of it all against Villa, had nothing but uplifting words to say about his teammates.

“I can’t believe it (on Hojbjerg scoring),” said Son. “I am so happy. I gave him an assist. But the hardest job, Pierre and Lucas did it.

“I am very happy for them because they work really hard for the team. And they take a big responsibility for the team.

“Everyone deserves a goal, but I am very happy from Pierre and Lucas as well.”

Hojbjerg’s goal from the weekend was one of serious quality and something you would expect Harry Kane to produce.

Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez perhaps thought the Denmark international was going to pass the ball, but instead, he guided the ball into the back of the net with a pin-point finish.

If Hojbjerg can be pushed further forward then he can showcase more of that attacking game because he does have it in his locker.

He showcased that during his days at Southampton, and also when he is on national duty, which is where he is headed now.
