Kevin Campbell has defended Oleksandr Zinchenko and he ‘can’t believe’ the criticism that has been thrown at the Arsenal defender and how he should be possibly dropped for the trip to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
From being nutmegged by Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield to that team huddle when Arsenal were 2-0 down against Southampton, it has seen Oleksandr Zinchenko come under serious fire.
But club legend Campbell wanted to remind those firing shots that one of the ‘main reasons’ they are top of the Premier League table is because of their quick-thinking left-back.

Mikel Arteta’s side are in a bit of a rut, after dropping points for three games in a row, so it’s understandable that there is an air of negativity around the place.
But, for Kevin Campbell, he doesn’t like what is being said about Zinchenko ahead of the title showdown against Manchester City, as he told the Highbury Squad.
“Let me tell you why he huddled,” said Campbell. “He had to shake the boys up. It’s not a huddle of congratulations. The team are asleep and we are 2-0 down at home.
“I can’t believe some people (criticising Zinchenko). If he wouldn’t have said something, as one of the experienced guys and left it, who says we come back in that game?! After that one, we started to play in a more progressive manner.
“The fact of the matter we are in this position is because of the way we play with our left-back joining our midfield to dominate and suffocate the opposition. You fans, sometimes, are so quick to throw players away. Why do you reckon we are top? He’s one of the main reasons we are at the top of the league.”

THE PREMIER LEAGUE FINAL
One thing is for sure, when Arsenal lock horns with Manchester City on Wednesday night, there won’t be any huddles from Zinchenko.
This is it for the Gunners. They have been questioned left, right and centre. But this is the time for them to do their talking on the field of play.
From an attacking sense, Arsenal have been cooking, but it’s what they have done in the defensive third that has massively cost them.
