Rangers legend Ally McCoist enjoyed laughing on talkSPORT (01/12/20) at the bookmaker’s claims that he is an outsider to replace Neil Lennon at Celtic.

Both McCoist and Lennon have shared the touchline before and were involved in an infamous heated exchanged in 2011.

A lot of time has passed since then and Lennon, now in his second stint at Celtic Park, is under enormous pressure after a set of results and performances which has seen them fall 11 points behind Rangers, get knocked out of the Europa League and the Scottish League Cup.

Well, when McCoist was told that he was on the bookie’s list to replace Lennon, he issued this response:

“No way,” said McCoist. “No [I can’t dispel these rumours]. I cannot comment just now

“I am ruling myself out of nothing, at this moment in time,” laughed the Rangers hero. “No, no. I am very honourable to talkSPORT.”

Lennon is still in a job at Celtic and seemingly still has the backing of those in the boardroom, but the fans have made their feelings quite clear.

The return of club legends has been muted as possible Lennon replacements, as well as out-of-work managers such as Eddie Howe.

Either way, it does seem as though it’s only a matter of time before Lennon is given his marching orders because he simply cannot survive this current situation.
