Some Arsenal fans on Twitter believe that tomorrow is the perfect opportunity for Mikel Arteta to give Gabriel Martinelli a chance to impress in the Premier League.

The Gunners welcome Premier League champions Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta could and probably will be without two wide options in the form of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.

Martinelli, who joined Arsenal in a £6 million deal in 2019, has only managed nine minutes of top-flight football since January.

All the talk in North London right now is about Saka and Smith Rowe’s potential, but the 19-year-old Brazilian was labelled a ‘talent of the century’ by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp some 18 months ago.

And some Arsenal fans believe that circumstance means that Arteta may unleash him from the start once again versus Klopp’s side.

Here’s what some are saying on Twitter:

You can understand why Arsenal fans love him so much, especially if Klopp is a big fan, which he is.

But for whatever reason, Arteta has elected to use him sparingly since returning from injury late last year, though a glittering display against Liverpool might convince the Spaniard that further chances are deserved.
