Speaking on the Transfer Talk Podcast, Pete Graves has been discussing Newcastle United’s January transfer window and what may happen at St James’ Park.
The Magpies are, once again, the centre of attention going into the transfer window as all eyes are on the richest club in the world.
Graves wasn’t actually too sure what will happen in terms of incomings this month, but he was certain about one potential outgoing.
Indeed, despite links to Real Madrid as of late, Graves was certain in saying that Bruno Guimaraes would be going nowhere this month.

Guimaraes is staying
Graves made it clear that the Brazilian won’t be leaving.
“Will Newcastle sell a couple of their sellable assets to buy a player? That will be one to keep an eye on, but there will have to be an interest out there. The one player they won’t sell is Bruno Guimaraes – he’s been linked with Real Madrid, I can guarantee you that. I used to lose sleep whenever Newcastle had a good player over the last 20 years I wouldn’t sleep at night, but now I don’t worry because money isn’t a fear for Newcastle anymore,” Graves said.
Why would they sell?
Guimaraes may be wanted by Real Madrid, but Newcastle are under no sort of pressure to sell their star man at this moment in time.
The Brazilian is tied down to a long-term contract after his arrival one year ago, and one thing is for sure, the Magpies certainly don’t need the money.
Even if they sold Guimaraes for a huge fee, there really isn’t a player on the market that could replace what the Samba star brings to Eddie Howe’s team.
Guimaraes is a key part of the project Newcastle are building, and he’s going nowhere.
