Speaking to Aston Villa’s official club website, Steven Gerrard has been speaking about managing against Liverpool.
Gerrard is undoubtedly one of Liverpool’s biggest legends and when he heads to Anfield in December, it’s bound to be one of the most emotional fixtures of the season.
However, despite the fact that Gerrard would have every right to feel conflicted headed into that game, he’s guaranteed everyone at Villa that he’s 100 per cent committed to winning every match, regardless of who it’s against.
What’s been said?
Gerrard spoke about managing against Liverpool.
“Listen, I don’t think me or anyone else would be able to control the noise. What’s important is the chance to go to Anfield and win, which is the attitude and mentality that we have going into every game. It is what it is, I want to win every game and now my priority and focus is with Aston Villa, and one thing I can guarantee the players, the supporters and the staff here is that when I commit to something, I’m all in,” Gerrard said.

Big fixture
Aston Villa vs Liverpool is always a brilliant fixture, but this one will be absolutely massive – for obvious reasons.
Gerrard may be conflicted heading into this game, but this is one of the most competitive men in football and he’ll probably want to win this game more than any other.
If reports are to be believed, Gerrard is already eyeing up the Liverpool job one day and what an incredible audition it would be if he could turn over Klopp’s Reds next month.
