Tottenham Hotspur look to have missed out on yet another manager with Salzburg confirming Jesse Marsch is in talks to replace Julian Nagelsmann at RB Leipzig, as reported by SID, via Sport1.
Red Bull really does give you wings.
And those wings have carried arguably the greatest American manager of his generation from the perennial Austrian champions to their Germany-based sister club.
Marsch is closing in on a move that will see him reunite with former Salzburg stars Hwang Hee-chan and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Kicker reports the 2015 MLS coach of the year – who also managed another taurine-powered outfit in the shape of New York Red Bulls – has agreed a deal with Bundesliga giants Leipzig, having turned down an approach from Tottenham.
“I can confirm that talks with Leipzig have started,” said Salzburg spokesman Christian Kircher.

In the space of 24 hours, Spurs have missed out on not one but two of their leading managerial targets.
Nagelsmann’s dream move to boyhood club Bayern Munich opened the door for Marsch – a former Leipzig assistant – to get the top job at the 2020 Champions League semi-finalists.
And while Marsch doesn’t possess Nagelsmann’s glittering reputation, the Wisconsin-born 47-year-old would have ticked a lot of boxes for Daniel Levy.
Not only does Marsch have a proven track record when it comes to winning trophies, he also plays a thrilling brand of attacking football while putting unproven youngsters on the pathway to superstardom.
Since sacking Jose Mourinho ten days ago, Spurs have already suffered the ignominy of being pied publicly by both Brendan Rodgers and Marcelino Garcia Toral.
Maurizio Sarri, meanwhile, is holding out for a move to Roma.
