Norwich City are closing in on the £1.5 million signing of winger Przemyslaw Placheta from Slask Wroclaw, with the club’s president telling Gazeta that a deal is indeed being negotiated.
With their relegation confirmed, the Canaries appear to have replaced West Brom as the so-called ‘yoyo club’ of English football.
And, just to add to the ‘boing boing’ moniker, the Anglian outfit will be looking to show off their bouncebackability with an immediate return to the Premier League in 12 month’s time.
Signing one of the most exciting young forwards in Eastern Europe should, on paper at least, add some speed and thrust to a frontline that looks bereft of all confidence at present.
Placheta, a Poland U21 international, has produced eight goals and five assists from his favoured left wing role in 2019/20.
And, interestingly, he was left out of Slask’s final game of the campaign against Lechia Gdansk on Sunday as he closes in on a move to England.

“I can confirm that we are negotiating with Norwich on the transfer of Przemek Placheta. It is very likely that we will reach an agreement this week,” president Wojciech Bochnak explains.
The report adds that a deal is likely to cost around £1.5 million – which will make Placheta the most expensive sale in the club’s history.
The 22-year-old is pretty much the epitome of a typical Stuart Webber signing too.
Norwich’s much-admired sporting director has earned plenty of praise at Huddersfield and Norwich for his ability to unearth rough diamonds from across the continent, before snapping them up on the cheap.
It remains to be seen however if Placheta, not to mention Bali Mumba and Jacob Lungi Sorensen, can replicate the impact of Teemu Pukki, Emi Buendia and co.
