Cesc Fabregas says Arsenal winning the Premier League title has been ‘closer than it has ever been for the last 15 years’.
The legendary midfielder shared that he was at Arsenal’s training ground recently and he could ’smell’ the belief that the Premier League title is heading their way.
Mikel Arteta has been through a number of rocky roads during his days as an Arsenal manager, but from what Cesc Fabregas is seeing at London Colney, he says ‘they are waiting’ and ‘working towards that moment in a very passionate way’, as he told Premier League Productions (08/10/23 at 6:50 pm).
Well, Arsenal put out their first real statement of intent on Sunday when they beat Manchester City 1-0 at the Emirates.
Regardless of whether Manchester City had a number of key players out or not, at the end of the day, three points are three points.
And whilst it’s still early in the season, from a psychological standpoint, this does more for Arsenal than the current champions themselves.

“It will just bring more positivity,” said Fabregas on their win against Man City. “I know how much they want to win the Premier League.
“I have been at the training ground recently and I know that they are waiting. I can smell it. They working towards that moment in a very passionate way. They are doing everything in every way to make this happen.
“With this young group, with the energy, the passion, the quality and the hunger they are showing each week. I think it’s closer than it has ever been for the last 12-15 years.”

Those hits Arsenal took last season knocked them out and opened the door for Manchester City to punish them.
You would think that they can now take those very same punches a lot better now, and if they can, then it seriously increases their chances of becoming champions of England for the first time in nearly two decades.
There is no doubt that Arsenal will be in the fight during the final weeks of the season, it’s just a case of learning from their past mistakes.
