Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Harvey Elliott posting a picture alongside Fernando Torres on his Instagram story.
On Wednesday night, Liverpool recorded a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League at Anfield.
With Elliott out with an injury, he has had to do with watching the game from the stands, and whilst he was at it, he got hold of a former fan favourite.
It would have been double delight for Elliott because, not only did he meet one of his childhood heroes, but he also got to see his boyhood club progress through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Nonetheless, the Liverpool faithful loved the picture of Elliott with Torres and how the latter would have been someone he would have watched growing up.
Perhaps, for now, forget that decision Torres made to leave Anfield for Stamford Bridge to one side because, one thing is for sure, at his peak there weren’t many better than the Spanish hitman.
During the last 15 or so years, Torres, Luis Suarez and Mo Salah standout as the top goalscoring icons for the Reds.
Rank them in order at your own choice, but all three at their peak, with Salah now on that road, were unbelievably deadly.
Elliott watches two of them ripping it up during his childhood and now he gets to play alongside one of them, it’s what dreams are made of.
