‘We have a better’: Sky pundit makes claim about Tottenham and Wolves squads

Jamie O’Hara has claimed on Sky Sports News (26/07/21 at 2:40 pm) that Tottenham have a ‘better squad’ than Wolves ahead of the new season.

Nuno Espirito Santo left Wolves at the end of last season and not many would have envisaged him turning up at Spurs.

But after several months of soul searching, Spurs turned their attention to the man who guided the Midlands side to back-to-back European places.

O’Hara, who played for both clubs during his playing days, shared these thoughts on Tottenham ahead of the new season.

“Top six is the benchmark,” said O’Hara. “We have to get into Europe. Then the latter stages of the League Cup, FA Cup or the Europa Conference League.

“We have a decent manager in Nuno. Tactically, he is brilliant. He did well with the Wolves squad.

“I believe we have a better squad than them, so I think we really need to kick on and try to do something. I am not getting my hopes of too much.”

Well, Wolves seemingly have a few players that interest Tottenham if rumours are to be true.

Conor Coady is the man who leads the troops from the back and his name has been rumoured to be interesting those at Spurs.

But he’s not the only one, Willy Boly and Daniel Podence are others who are seemingly on Tottenham’s wishlist, and it does seem as though Nuno will try and lure a few of his former players towards North London.

Aside from the obvious of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the rest of the Spurs squad have been questioned.

Erik Lamela and Toby Alderweireld have left in recent days, whilst more names, such as Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Moussa Sissoko could follow them out of the exit door.
