Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter in panicked fashion after Jonathan Barnett, Jack Grealish’s agent, spoke to Sky Sports about his client’s future.
Barnett, who also represents Gareth Bale, said: “He loves Villa but I think we just have to wait and see how things pan out. At the moment he is a Villa player & he has no thoughts about anything else.”
Now, that certainly doesn’t sound too convincing.
Of course, agents benefit financially if their client secures a big-money transfer, so Barnett is always going to leave the door open to a move.
Having said that, Aston Villa fans on Twitter don’t sound best pleased with the lack of conviction in his comments about Grealish’s future.
Specifically, his uttering of the words ‘he loves Villa, but’ have concerned a few supporters below, with a few thinking that means Grealish is off.

If the England international does leave Villa Park this summer, it’ll take a huge amount of money.
Last month, the Mirror claimed that Dean Smith’s side have placed a £100 million asking price on Grealish’s head amid interest from Manchester City.
Manchester United are also said to be interested.

After six goals and 12 assists in 22 Premier League games this season, you can see why the Villans are asking for such a massive fee.
If he does leave this summer, it would be heartbreaking to do so without a full Villa Park waving him off and thanking him for his efforts.
Let’s see what the Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been saying about Barnett’s comments…
