Sheffield United fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Arsenal have opened talks to sign Aaron Ramsdale.

The Athletic claim that Arsenal are in the market for a goalkeeper this summer and talks have begun with Ramsdale, who is currently on England duty at Euro 2020.

Arsenal need a new goalkeeper for the forthcoming campaign, with Bernd Leno and the unconvincing Runar Runarsson the only two options for Mikel Arteta to choose from.

Whilst the Blades suffered a morale-sapping relegation last season, one of their shining lights was Ramsdale.

Therefore, it’s understandable why Sheffield United fans aren’t keen on losing the £19 million player (BBC Sport)

Arsenal may have aspirations to try and lift their sinking ship, but the Blades want an instant return to the Premier League.

And having an England international in between the sticks in the Championship certainly help them towards their goals.

The key thing here is how much are Arsenal willing to pay for the former Bournemouth man?

Whilst Leno is number one, there does seem to be uncertainty over his future in North London.

If that’s the case and he leaves then Arsenal don’t just need a number one, but a number two also – unless they plan on relying on Runarsson, who endured a nightmare debut campaign at the club.

So, that potential scenario might just make Sheffield United’s life more difficult in trying to keep their shot-stopper in Yorkshire.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Sheffield Untied fans reacting to those Ramsdale/Arsenal rumours:
