Arsenal forward, Bukayo Saka, and Chelsea defender, Ben Chilwell, exchanged a few words on their Instagram stories after England training on Sunday.

After Saka was fouled and pulled back by the left-back in training, the Arsenal man wrote on his Instagram story to Chilwell: “Your head was gone, bro.”

Chilwell responded to the teenager’s comments by adding on his own Instagram story: “It was the scream that come out your mouth that did it for me.”

But Arsenal’s academy product was seemingly unhappy at being accused of screaming, as he responded and said: “Lool I barely screamed”.

In the end, all of it does feel like fun and games between the duo, who will probably feel hard done by that they aren’t getting the minutes out on the pitch.

Both players are yet to taste a minute of football at Euro 2020 this summer and were even, at one point, left out of Gareth Southgate’s matchday squad altogether.

It does seem as though that trend will continue, with Luke Shaw and Kieran Trippier seemingly ahead of Chilwell.

And with Jadon Sancho struggling to get minutes out on the flanks, it does beg the question of how far behind Saka is in the pecking order if the Dortmund star cannot even get any action.

But, for the Arsenal youngster, he needs to take all of this in his stride and realise how far he has come in his career during these past few seasons.

As for Chilwell, he can count himself pretty unlucky because after ending the 2020/21 Premier League season in a strong fashion, including winning the Champions League.

It seems as though that he’s not only behind Manchester United’s Shaw for that England left-back spot, but right-back Trippier also.
