Darren Ambrose says Richarlison just ‘isn’t doing it’ for Tottenham Hotspur.
There were excuses for Richarlison’s first 12 months at Hotspur Way, the team in general declining and Antonio Conte leaving a wreck prior to his sacking.
Many got that second chance when Ange Postecoglou walked through the Tottenham doors this summer, with the likes of Yves Bissouma and Son Heung-min taking it with both hands and performing.
But the same can’t be said for Richarlison, with Ambrose adding that he is ‘trying to back him’, but he just isn’t performing, as he told talkSPORT.
The 26-year-old started the season down the middle, but then quickly found himself on the bench.
And even though he is now playing from the left, once again, he is struggling to put the ball in the back of the net and score those easy chances.

Richarlison’s struggles
“We haven’t got a forward,” said Ambrose. “Richarlison isn’t doing it for me. I am trying to back him.
“Son can play there, we know that. So, does Brennan Johnson come in onto the left? Or Kulusevski on the right? And there is Bentancur to come back.”

Time is ticking for Richarlison
The issue for Richarlison is that this Spurs side is scoring goals for fun, yet he only has one goal from his eight league games.
The goals are there. He has serious creativity in and around him. So, from that perspective, there shouldn’t be any excuses.
As of this moment, Ange Postecoglou still sees the £90k-a-week star (Spotrac) as a key player, so that’s the only thing that matters.
