‘I am told’: Romano shares what he knows after it was reported defender has agreed to join Arsenal

Speaking on the House of Champions Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Evan Ndicka’s future after it was reported that the French defender has agreed terms to join Arsenal,

Ndicka is out of contract in the summer transfer window, and that means that he is free to negotiate with any club outside of Germany ahead of a summer departure from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Il Romanista recently reported that the player has decided to join Arsenal in the summer, but, as you may have guessed, that isn’t the case right now.

Indeed, Romano says that Ndicka doesn’t actually have a pre-agreement with any club right now, but he did note that there have been conversations with Arsenal lately.

Ndicka hasn’t agreed with Arsenal

Romano shared what he knows about this situation.

“I think we have many rumours about him. In Italy we had the same type of rumour with Roma and many other clubs in Europe. It’s normal when an important player like Ndicka is a free agent. It’s normal to have these stories and links. I am told that he has no pre-agreement with any club at the moment. He is available and is speaking to clubs. We will see if Arsenal proceed. They had conversations months ago with his agents and they have a good relationship,” Romano said.

Could still happen

Ndicka hasn’t agreed terms with Arsenal as was initially reported, but that doesn’t mean that a move to the Emirates isn’t on the cards.

Indeed, as Romano says, initial discussions have taken place, and there is a good relationship with the agents and the club, so this one could be good to go.

Factor in that Ndicka is already friendly with William Saliba from the France youth setup, and you have a transfer that looks increasingly likely.
