Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Tottenham and their reported interest in Memphis Depay.
Spurs are supposedly keen on Depay, and there have been a number of reports in Spain about a potential summer move for the Dutchman.
However, according to Romano, Depay is not a priority for Spurs at the moment, stating that Spurs are very happy to go forward with Dejan Kulusevski and Heung-Min Son on the wings.
What’s been said?
Romano shared what he knows about Depay and Spurs.
“Yes, there are still some rumours about Memphis Depay, especially from Spain about Memphis Depay and Tottenham. What I am told is that there is no proposal from Tottenham, it’s something they’re not discussing now and it’s not a priority right now. Kulusevski will stay next season and he’s a player they’re super happy with, and Son is of course also part of the project. For Tottenham, Memphis Depay is not a priority, that is what I am told,” Romano said.

Not a priority
Romano says that Depay isn’t a priority for Spurs, and to be honest, he shouldn’t be.
Yes, he’s a talented footballer, but Tottenham don’t need another top-level winger. In fact, they should probably be looking to offload a couple of wide players this summer.
Let’s not forget either, Depay flopped the last time he was in the Premier League with Manchester United, so this would be far from a risk-free signing.
If Tottenham have a massive budget this summer, then Depay would be a good signing, but there are other areas that need addressing first.
