Andy Cole was adamant on talkSPORT that Tanguy Ndombele meant to score his wonder goal for Tottenham during their win against Sheffield United on Sunday.

Ndombele’s improvised lob over Aaron Ramsdale was perhaps one of the goals of the season and Cole labelled the Tottenham midfielder as ‘very talented’.

A lot has been made of Tottenham perhaps needing creativity in the middle of the park, but Ndombele does provide that spice and he is now starting to deliver it on a consistent basis.

Nonetheless, former Manchester United striker Cole reacted to Ndombele’s ambitious lob and the claim that he perhaps didn’t mean it.

“Yes, [he meant to score that], he’s a very talented player,” said Cole. “He’s a real talented player.

But Cole wasn’t happy with the talkSPORT pundit and host being ‘unsure’ about Ndombele meaning to score the goal: “I am starting to wonder if you even play Sunday League – I am telling you.”

It has been some turnaround for Ndombele in North London because it was a pretty sticky start from the creative ball-carrier.

Less than 12 months ago, Daniel Levy would have been dreading that Tottenham’s record signing would be heading back out the door before he could complete the season.

But Mourinho’s highly-demanding ways are paying off and it’s those man-management skills that will get Spurs over the line in regards to putting a trophy in their cabinet.
