Speaking on the House of Champions Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about Arsenal’s transfer plans and Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian attacker has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a little while now, bu the trail has gone a bit cold after Arsenal baulked at Shakhtar Donetsk’s asking price for the winger.

However, Romano is certain that Arsenal still have an eye on Mudryk, but, as was the issue in the summer, the journalist says that any move would be heavily dependent on the price of the deal.

Arsenal still watching Mudryk

Romano says that Arsenal are still keeping an eye on this young talent.

“He mentions the right positions, it will be a midfielder and a winger. Arsenal now go for players they trust, like Liverpool, and this is the best strategy for a top club,” Romano said.

“It is not easy to find the right player in January. There are no advanced negotiations, I am told, but I will mention a midfielder and a winger. Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk is a player they really appreciate and I am sure they are keeping an eye on him, but it depends on the price.”

Just the price

It seems as though it’s just the pricetag keeping Arsenal from signing this player.

Mudryk certainly looks to be talented enough to play for Arsenal – shining in the Champions League this season against some top clubs,  while the player himself has told CBS Sports in the past that he’d like to join the Gunners.

“I think every player dreams about the Premier League. It’s hard to say [which team he’d like to join] but Arsenal is a very good team, very good coach, I like the way they play,” Mudryk said.

When asked if he would make a move to the Emirates he said: “From my side, I can’t say no [to Arsenal]. But the transfer is not only my decision.”

Of course, cash is king in this sport, so it all depends on the financials of the deal, but if Arsenal can get over that hurdle, this may be an easy deal to conclude.
