Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Gabriel Jesus’ situation amid continued links to Arsenal.

The Brazilian forward has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, but after a fantastic run of form in April, many have speculated that Manchester City may well want to keep hold of their striker.

However, Romano has put those worries to bed here. The journalist states that he is absolutely sure that Jesus will be leaving the Etihad this summer, adding that he’s very tempted by the possibility of heading to Arsenal.

What’s been said?

Romano gave an update on Jesus.

“The message from Gabriel Jesus’ side is clear, he’s happy with Arsenal’s project and he’s tempted by this possibility, there are no talks between City and Arsenal because City don’t want to be busy with players leaving before the end of the season, but I am sure that Gabriel Jesus will leave this summer, I can say that he will leave, he’s out of contract in June 2023 and they know they need to sell him now and the player wants to go,” Romano said.

Get it done

When a player as talented as Jesus is tempted to join your club, you have to act fast and get the deal over the line.

Jesus will be leaving City this summer, and whoever snaps him up will be getting a very talented footballer indeed.

The Brazilian netted five goals in April, once again showcasing just how clinical he can be when given a chance, and if he’s Arsenal’s first-choice number nine, he could run riot in north London.

Whether or not Arsenal get this done remains to be seen, but you have to feel they’d be fools not to finalise this signing.
