Speaking on a video posted to the CBS Sports Twitter page, Fabrizio Romano has been chatting about Brenden Aaronson after he was linked with a move to Leeds.

The Whites were apparently very keen on signing Aaronson in January. They made two bids for the American, but sadly, their attempts were knocked back.

The Yorkshire club reportedly remain determined to sign him in the summer, but according to Romano, they’ll face competition from other Premier League clubs.

What’s Romano said?

The journalist shared what he knows about Aaronson.

“Three American players that could make a move in the summer transfer window. Aaronson, Leeds wanted him in January, they will try again in the summer, but I am sure that some other Premier League clubs wlll try to jump into this potential deal from Salzburg,” Romano said.

Bad news for Leeds

This isn’t what Leeds will have wanted to hear.

Aaronson is clearly a player the Whites are keen on, but whether or not they can get him is another question entirely.

If other Premier League clubs are in for the American, then United may struggle to compete.

With all due respect to Leeds, they’re not one of the division’s strongest teams, while their financial capabilities also aren’t up there with some of the Premier League’s big boys.

It remains to be seen where Aaronson ends up, but it sounds as though Leeds may find it hard to secure his signature this summer.
