Gilberto Silva has taken to Twitter to react after hearing that Steve Bould had left Arsenal after 33 years at the club.

What’s the story?

Well, Arsenal announced on Tuesday that Bould would be leaving the Emirates Stadium, after well over a quarter of a century at the club.

Bould acted as Arsène Wenger’s assistant for six years, before then taking charge of Arsenal’s Under-23 side for the last two campaigns.

Of course, the 58-year-old also spent over a decade playing for the Gunners from 1988 to 1999, making 372 appearances in total.

In the Under-23 setup, Bould has helped the likes of Bukayo Saka and Folarin Balogun shine, with both now considered first-team members.

What did Gilberto Silva say?

After hearing the news, Gilberto Silva tweeted the following.

Clearly, the Brazilian seems a bit down about the development.

You could argue that Silva thinks Arsenal have made a mistake, as he says any club will be lucky to hire Bould after his exit from north London.

In fairness, Silva wasn’t as expressive as Jack Wilshere after hearing the news.

The Hale End academy graduate asked what was going on at Arsenal after hearing Bould had left, and seemed truly shocked by the update.

Of course, there’s no denying that Bould is an Arsenal legend.

However, if Mikel Arteta wants to take the Gunners in a new direction, some people will need to make way, which is what’s happened here it seems.
