Ian Wright has said on Premier League Productions that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were right to carry on playing during the Emile Smith Rowe goal incident against Watford.
What’s the story?
Arsenal got the better of Watford 1-0.at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League this afternoon.
Emile Smith Rowe scored the only goal of the match in the 56th minute.
It was a wonderfully crafted goal as well, and the finish from the English youngster was superb.
However, there was a controversial incident in the build-up to the goal.
Actually two.
Watford players felt that Arsenal should have given the ball back after Danny Rose kicked it out.
Ozan Tufan was injured at the time.
Instead, Alexandre Lacazette threw the ball to Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Arsenal continued to play on.
Ismaila Sarr then went down, but the Gunners played on and eventually scored.

Ian Wright’s verdict
Arsenal legend Wright believes that the Gunners were right to carry on playing.
Wright said on Premier League Productions: “There’s nothing wrong with him in the end, there’s nothing wrong with him.
“I am sorry, plus people will say it’s Arsenal so I am biased. If there’s something wrong with you, then stay down and then you go through what you normally do.”
The Arsenal legend added: “I don’t believe that they should give the ball back because there is nothing wrong with the player.”
Chris Sutton’s verdict
Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has criticised the Gunners on Twitter for the incident.
The win against Watford means that Arsenal are now fifth in the Premier League table now with 20 points from 11 matches.
