Frank Leboeuf has told ESPN that it is time for Harry Kane to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Chelsea central defender, who now works as a pundit for ESPN, has said that he feels sorry for Spurs fans, but he believes that Kane is going to leave Tottenham at the end of the season.
Leboeuf made the comments about the 27-year-old while discussing the striker’s recent remarks about his future.
In the build-up to the game between Albania and England – in which Kane scored and also got a yellow card, which Rob Green felt was undeserved – the Spurs star said that he will think about his future after the European Championship in the summer, as quoted on Sky Sports.
Leboeuf told ESPN: “I am sorry for the Spurs fans. It would have been different maybe if they would have won the Champions League three years ago, but now it’s time for him to get silverware and go from the club.”
Staying positive
Leboeuf is not the first pundit to suggest in recent days to say that Kane will leave or has to leave Spurs.
Ashley Cole and Roy Keane have also made similar remarks, and one would understand if Spurs fans were worried.
However, Tottenham supporters should stay optimistic. Kane has been at the North London club his entire professional club football career so far, and he could well decide to spend the rest of his career at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
