Mauricio Pochettino has told The Guardian that he is happy that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane did not join Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Premier League champions City wanted to sign Kane from Spurs in the summer of 2021.
City manager Pep Guardiola himself publicly stated his interest in the 28-year-old striker.
However, no move materialised.
What Mauricio Pochettino has said
Pochettino told The Guardian: “I love Tottenham fans and I love Tottenham and I am so happy that Harry is in Tottenham.
“But I want the best for Harry and I want the best for Tottenham. That’s it, no?”
Tottenham Hotspur fans will agree
In our view, Spurs fans will agree with Pochettino about Kane.
Tottenham supporters will be pleased that Kane is still at the club.
Well, at least they should be.
Now, of course, we know that the 28-year-old has not been playing well in the Premier League this season.

The England international striker has scored just once in the league so far this season.
However, Kane scored seven goals for England during the latest international break.
Under new Spurs head coach Antonio Conte, Kane could get back to his best.
What Kane needs to do is play in and around the opposition penalty box.
The Tottenham midfielders also need to create chances for the striker and not force him to come deep.
