Jose Mourinho has stated that he is ‘right’ in saying that Liverpool’s ‘top-class’ front three create chances in ‘every match’ irrespective of whether they are going to score, as he told his pre-match press conference.
Tottenham will welcome the recently misfiring Premier League champions for a crucial showdown near the top of the table tonight – fifth-placed Liverpool are remarkably seven points behind leaders Manchester City.
On Wednesday, the Premier League arguably saw its upset of the season when bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United rocked up to Old Trafford to claim all three points.
This provides both Tottenham and Liverpool with an ample chance to close the gap on their counterparts – a win sends either team into the top-four tonight.
Nonetheless, a lot has been said about Liverpool’s lack of goals up top recently, but Mourinho knows the qualities Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah can bring to the table.
“They scored two goals at Old Trafford, where it’s not easy to score,” said Mourinho. “They could score more.
“And they create a lot of chances. So, you are a right, they have top-class attacking players.
“I am right in saying they create a chance in every match apart of scoring or not scoring, so when you create chances you have top players. You are closer to score goals than not to score.
“But, of course, we are a team that is normally well organised and I don’t think they are going to have an easy match too.”

Liverpool were knocked out of the FA Cup on Sunday, but a certain Mo Salah finally got his motor going once more, but if he stalls on his drive down Hotspur Way then the Spurs fans will be grateful.
Not only that, Roberto Firmino’s last-gasp winning header from back in December will be replaying back in the Brazilian’s head because his confidence has remarkably been shot to pieces, for large parts, since then.
Then there’s the task of having to deal with Sadio Mane, who only has two goals against Spurs in his career, so it’s either going to finish 4-4 or 0-0.
