Michael Owen has reacted to Mohamed Salah getting an assist for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick goal during Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Leicester City on Monday night.
The former striker stated that he is ‘not happy’ that Mohamed Salah got an assist for that free-kick goal, even though he would ‘take it’ if he was in that position, as he told Premier League Productions (15/05/23 at 10:15 pm).
That’s not the first time Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored such a goal, with the help of Salah.

The same happened against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge when Salah flicked the ball into the path of the England star to rifle home like a bullet.
The one against Chelsea was perhaps better because it had more power to it and the type of opponent it was against.
But, for Owen, he isn’t a fan of Salah getting an assist for just laying the ball off for his teammate to score from a distance in a dead-ball situation.
“That’s two goals for Trent Alexander-Arnold (both free-kick goals against Chelsea and now Leicester) and two assists, I guess, for Mo Salah,” said Owen.
“I am not too happy with a player getting an assist for that, to be honest. I would take it. But that’s an assist, is it?! Identical isn’t it (Chelsea and Leicester goals)?! The only thing that’s a little different is the hairstyle. Apart from that it’s identical.”

SALAH AND ALEXANDER ARNOLD’S LIVERPOOL FORM
During the crunch moments of the season, two of Liverpool’s best players are starting to step up and make the ball talk.
The Reds still have hope of securing Champions League football, but they know that they will have to win their remaining games in order to achieve that – even then, Newcastle United and Manchester United might pip them to the line.
In the end, it might prove to be too late because of how Liverpool performed for large parts of the season, especially on the road, but they are still asking those questions to those above them.
