Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has suggested that he is open to leaving at the end of the season, as quoted on Ligue 1.com.

Lloris has been on the books of Tottenham since 2012 and is out of contract at the North London club at the end of the current campaign.

The France international goalkeeper has said that he plans to hold talks with Spurs over his future.

The 2018 World Cup winner has suggested that he is open to leaving Spurs as a free agent in the summer of 2022.

What Hugo Lloris has said

Ligue 1.com quotes Lloris as saying: “We will have discussions in the coming weeks. We need to get the club back on track and adapt to the demands of new coach Antonio Conte and his staff.

“I’ve been there for a few years. It’s still a pleasure but I am not closing any doors. I want to enjoy my football.

“I am always interested in having a work philosophy. That’s what counts for me. I look for pleasure in winning.”

What should Tottenham do with Hugo Lloris?

Lloris is 34 now, but the Frenchman remains a very good goalkeeper.

The former Lyon star is a regular for Tottenham and for France.

However, Spurs needs to think about the future of Lloris and of the goalkeeping position.

Yes, the 34-year-old is a very good goalkeeper, but the North London club need to think about the future.

Lloris cannot go on forever, and Spurs need to find a younger goalkeeper to eventually replace him.

Pierluigi Gollini joined Tottenham on loan from Atalanta in the summer of 2021.

The Italy international goalkeeper is 26, and perhaps Spurs head coach Antonio Conte should give him a run of games in the Premier League and see how he does.
