Derby County are in turmoil at the moment, and behind the scenes there’s a lot going on at Pride Park.
The Rams aren’t getting the results on the pitch and off of it there’s a bit of uncertainty as well as the reported takeover of the club continues, amidst the club still not having a full-time manager.
Reports have circulated about John Terry or Wayne Rooney becoming the next Derby manager, but it seems as though the people in charge haven’t made their minds up yet.
Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window podcast says that a number of candidates will be interviewed, but he hasn’t heard Terry’s name mentioned as of yet.
“I am informed that there will be an interview process and that candidates will be interviewed. I notice that John Terry has been mentioned in reports in regards to the job, but he’s not someone whose name I have heard in conversations in regards to taking over at Pride Park.”
McGarry is well connected within football, so it’s certainly curious that he hasn’t heard Terry’s name mentioned.

The Chelsea legend has been spoken about as one of the frontrunners for the job, so the fact that McGarry has heard nothing about it is rather strange.
Of course, it could just be a case of McGarry having different sources from other journalists, but with the news emerging here that the club are to undergo an interview process, it seems as though nobody has the job sewn up as of yet.
It will certainly be interesting to watch what happens in the coming weeks, but Derby need to make sure they get this appointment right after their poor start to the campaign.
