Rio Ferdinand has said on his YouTube channel that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte wants to sign wingers and play them as wing-backs.
The former Manchester United defender has been impressed by what Conte is doing at Tottenham at the moment.
The BT SPorts pundit believes that Conte will look to make signings for the wide areas in the January transfer window.
Ferdinand has said that the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss will bring in wingers and play them as wing-backs rather than recruit full-backs and deploy them as wing-backs.
The pundit said about Conte on his YouTube channel: “I think he will go in the market for wide areas definitely.
“And I think he will be looking to buy wingers rather than full-backs to play wing-backs. That’s what I am hearing.”

The London Evening Standard reported over the weekend that Conte wants an upgrade on Emerson Royal and wants to sign a right wing-back.
Tottenham remain keen on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore, according to The Telegraph.
And by now all Spurs fans will be aware of the links with Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
It will be interesting to see which players Conte and Tottenham are eventually able to sign this month.
The wing-back role is very important in Conte’s system.
The big question is whether there are too many quality players available for Conte for that specific role.
