Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Harry Kane will be staying at Tottenham this summer.
After weeks and weeks of speculation of Manchester City trying to sign the striker, Kane is staying put at Spurs, as he confirmed on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
This has a huge bearing on someone like Liverpool because it now means that their Premier League title rivals don’t strengthen their team further.
A near £1bn squad already added £100 million Jack Grealish to their oil-rich team this summer, so mixed with Kane, it would have been a cheat code.
Not forgetting a certain Kevin de Bruyne because you are talking about three of the best players, not just in the Premier League, but in Europe, who could have possibly linked up on a weekly basis on the Etihad turf.
And whilst Pep Guardiola won’t be able to call upon Kane, he still has a seriously top-quality squad to choose from.
Although, some Liverpool fans have questioned whether Kane was forced to stay because of Daniel Levy.
The Spurs chairman has been ruthless in his approach and not batted an eyelid throughout this saga.
It perhaps benefits the competitive nature of the Premier League as a whole because the spending is getting quite ridiculous now.
But whilst this Kane saga is over this summer, it begs the question as to what it means for next summer, especially if you throw the likes of Erling Braut Haaland into the mix.
