Reported Everton target David Brooks has revealed how much he wants to play in the Premier League, speaking to the Bournemouth Echo.
The Wales international has already had a taste of Premier League football with the Cherries. However, a bad run of injuries and relegation last season means his top-flight opportunities have been limited.
The winger had a number of admirers in the summer transfer window including Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham but, for one reason or another, a move failed to materialise.
Perhaps his reported £50 million price tag was a red flag for teams looking at signing him.
However, Brooks has outlined his ambition to play in the Premier League once more and, while he hopes that’s with Bournemouth, his future is likely to depend on how the Cherries’ season turns out.
“Being in the Premier League – I had a full season and then got injured. From my point of view, it was cut a bit short,” Brooks said.
“I was disappointed I couldn’t really factor in last year so I am desperate to get back in the Premier League and hopefully it’s with Bournemouth.
“Everyone wants to be playing at the big, nice stadiums and on the big occasions. Hopefully when the crowds are back in.”

If Brooks made it clear he hopes to be playing top-flight football with Bournemouth, his words seem to indicate he will be on his way if the Cherries don’t go up.
You can’t blame him. He’s a supremely talented player who contributed to 12 goals during the 2018/19 season. He would be an asset for almost every top-flight side.
Everton were among five clubs linked with a move for him last month. If the opportunity arose to sign him next summer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one of the big clubs swoop for the Championship ace.
