Sergio Reguilon admitted to Sky Sports that he was absolutely shattered after Tottenham Hotspur’s game yesterday.
Tiredness creeps in
Reguilon scored Tottenham’s winner in their 2-1 victory over Leeds United, as he pounced on the rebound from a free-kick by Eric Dier.
Reguilon actually was taken off ahead of time and replaced by Ryan Sessegnon.
And his post match comments suggest that the change was almost definitely made due to his fitness levels, which were waning towards the end.
“When we attack I have to have the mentality of the striker,” the £32 million full-back (Sky) said.
“The gaffer wants that. I have to arrive, arrive, arrive and also defend! I am dead, but I’m so happy.”
Big contrast
Those words could hardly be in more contrast to when Tottenham had Nuno in charge.
A lack of stamina was very rarely an issue for Spurs players, as they didn’t accumulate the mileage to get tired.

Tottenham had ran the least distance of any side in the Premier League when Nuno was at the helm.
Yesterday, however, they outran a relentless Leeds side to claim victory.
It is quite the contrast considering Conte has only been in charge for a matter of weeks.
Reguilon should become more used to the physical demands of playing under the Italian as time goes by too.
And we have a feeling that there won’t be too many complaints about the intensity of Conte’s play, providing the wins keep coming.
