Everton player Moise Kean was linked with a return to Juventus before joining PSG and, speaking to Calcio in Pillole, the striker’s father is still hoping that a second spell at the Serie A champions will come.
Mino Raiola certainly earned his wages this summer.
Despite toiling in the Premier League, scoring just twice and starting a grand total of six matches, Kean’s agent somehow convinced PSG to take his struggling client to the Parc des Princes.
Not that Paris Saint Germain were the only European powerhouse linked with the Italy international.
Kean shot to fame with Juventus as a teenager and was linked with an emotional return to Turin before the dominant force of Italian football opted to bring back Alvaro Morata instead.
“What I want is for my son to return to play in Italy as soon as possible,” said Kean’s father, who has been an outspoken critic of his £27 million move to Everton since day one.
“Here he grew up, here he became what he is now and it is right for him to return to his country.
“This summer when there were rumours of Moise’s return to Juventus, I was very happy and hoped he would return, but in the end they preferred another player.
“I am convinced that sooner or later we will see him again (in Serie A).”
It is fair to say Kean has not exactly taken to PSG like the proverbial duck to water, missing a glorious chance on his debut against Nimes before producing an ineffective display in Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United.
Under-fire coach Thomas Tuchel, however, is convinced that Kean has plenty to offer in the French capital, especially at a club previously lacking a physical centre-forward of this ilk.
“We tried, with him, to give a little more physicality, to open spaces for Kylian (Mbappé), Neymar and Angel (Di Maria). He gave everything.(against United),” Tuchel told Sport24.
