Heung-Min Son told BT Sport that he is ‘a bit sad’ that he couldn’t provide Harry Kane with an assist after the Tottenham duo combined once more on Saturday.

Tottenham recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Leeds, with both Son and Kane getting on the scoresheet and the latter providing his teammate with yet another assist.

England’s captain, who has now supplied 11 assists this term, has turned into the English Pirlo this season because he has become the complete player added with his goals and defensive work.

Son and Kane’s partnership has been one of the standout performances this season, as the South Korean international explained their ‘telepathic’ partnership.

“We are working hard,” said Son. “We have been working together a long time. It has been six years and we understand each other really well.

“I am a bit sad that I couldn’t give an assist today to H. But Harry always finds me. You can see my goal, as soon I went, he turned and he knew I was there, so obviously the ball was perfect to me. Sometimes it’s telepathic.”

A lot is made of Jose Mourinho’s style of play, but he deserves credit for the performances he is eeking out from Kane and Son.

There is no doubt that Kane is playing the best football of his career despite previous claims that he wouldn’t see much action in the final third under Mourinho.

Well, he producing more than what he was putting on the table under the more forward-thinking Mauricio Pochettino, who has since taken charge of PSG.
