Tottenham goalkeeper Joe Hart has stated that he is ‘anything but the GOAT [greatest of all time]’ after reacting to claims that he has been disrespected in his career, whilst speaking on Brew City’s ‘The Social’ (in partnership with SPORTbible).

It was put to the Spurs summer signing that he has won more Golden Gloves [4] than Harry Kane has won Golden Boots [2] and there needs to be less disrespect towards his name.

From being England’s number one, Hart has had a number of tough years that have seen him move to Italy, join West Ham on loan and spend a significant amount of time sitting on Burnley’s bench.

Hart responded to a claim from a fan on Twitter that he needs to seemingly be respected more, as he shared that he can ‘do things that a lot of people can’t’.

“I think I am anything but the GOAT,” said Hart. “I’m a guy who tries his hardest, you know. I’m in a position where goals are going to go in.

“Put the same energy, the same effort into everything I do. I’ve prided myself on that. And in the position I am in, sometimes I am going to let goals in that maybe people think I shouldn’t.

“But I am also going to do things that a lot of people can’t. So, you have got to put the balance. Stay in the middle. I am happy with what I am doing so far with Spurs. I have come to help the team in all aspects on and off the field.

“I am going to keep trying my best. And as they referenced in that [tweet], it has won me four Golden Gloves and a few titles.”

Compared to 12 months ago, Hart is in a much better position and if he can turn his career around in North London then it would be some story.

Hart is well aware of what it takes to win trophies, and most importantly win the Premier League title, which was perhaps one of the main reasons Jose Mourinho signed him up.

Whilst eyes are on Hart and what he is producing in the Europa League this season, the biggest and most important impact he will perhaps have is in that Tottenham dressing room.
