Martin Dubravka has confirmed to the Northern Echo that he is fit and ready for Newcastle United’s Premier League return in a big boost for Steve Bruce’s side.
The Slovakian goalkeeper suggested that he was initially nervous to get back to training.
But having been testing his knee out for a while, the Newcastle stopper now feels as if he is back to full health.
“I feel all right,” Dubravka said. “Obviously, I’ve done different movements so the first week for me was strange. I was not sure if my knee was 100 per cent repaired.
“But it is now, and I don’t even need to think about it. I am glad that I am 100 per cent ready, and ready to be on the pitch. Finally we’re back and hopefully we are ready for the games.”

When Dubravka initially picked up a serious knee injury there were fears that he could miss the rest of the season.
That would have been a huge blow to Steve Bruce’s side, as Dubravka has been one of their star performers this term.
The 31-year-old has made more saves than any other Premier League goalkeeper and proved hugely reliable during his time in net.
Newcastle would have been significantly weakened by his absence, but his return is a major boost.
Newcastle are next in action when they take on Sheffield United in two weekends’ time.
