Speaking on Liverpool’s YouTube channel, Roberto Firmino has been picking his dream five-a-side team.

As you may imagine, Firmino’s dream team was largely made up of current Liverpool players as Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Mo Salah all earned spots in his side.

However, there was also one Aston Villa player in the mix as Firmino picked Philippe Coutinho as his attacking midfield option just behind Salah.

Of course, Firmino played alongside Coutinho for years at Liverpool, and while it’s been a while since they were teammates, the attacker clearly still has a lot of admiration for his fellow countryman.

What’s been said?

Firmino had nothing but good things to say about Coutinho.

“Fourth is Philippe Coutinho, we had a great bond when we played together. It was a privilege to play alongside him, he is an amazing player and I admire him a lot,” Firmino said.

Brilliant pairing

Coutinho may have left Liverpool before they truly became one of Europe’s elite sides, but let’s not forget just how good these two were together.

As Firmino says they had a brilliant bond during their time together at Anfield, and perhaps that’s something Brazil boss, Tite, should be looking at ahead of the World Cup.

This may be a long-shot, but perhaps it is worth noting that Firmino’s contract at Liverpool is up next summer, and with Steven Gerrard at the helm and Coutinho in the team, perhaps Villa may want to take a look at the striker if he’s available on a Bosman.

Almost every neutral would love to see Coutinho and Firmino reunited at some point, and if it’s in the Premier League that would be even better.
