Pep Guardiola has shared that he is a ‘big fan’ of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, as he told Sky Sports.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City battled out a enthralling 2-2 draw on Sunday, with Guardiola being pretty animated on the touchline.
That stemmed around James Milner not receiving a second yellow card for a foul on Bernardo Silva.
But whilst Guardiola was raging on the touchline, he was a lot calmer after the full-time whistle.
And when he could gather his thoughts, he praised the man in Liverpool’s dugout and admitted that he does ‘admire’ his work.
“The result is the result,” said Guardiola. “You can’t change it. This is not the problem.
“I know how difficult it is, this stadium, these players and this manager. I am a big fan and I admire Jurgen.
“Everytime it’s an incredible challenge for us.”
Whilst the other so-called title challengers for this season spent heavy during the summer market, it was a rather quiet one for those on Merseyside.
Liverpool opted to renew contracts of their current stars, rather than bring back big-name players or purchase £100 million playmakers.
But that has been the case for Klopp since he joined Liverpool and it just goes to show the remarkable job the £133k-a-week man is doing.
Whilst the German doesn’t have the squad depth of others, what he does have is probably the best player on the planet right now in Mo Salah.
